NASPA Conference
I spent much of last week at the NASPA Conference in Boston. Probably the greatest benefit of going to a Student Affairs conference, rather than an IT-focused conference, was to gain a better understanding of the culture surrounding our Division. Sometimes it’s easy to immerse ourselves solely in our own techie sphere, so it was a bit of an eye-opening experience to adopt the mindset of a “regular” Student Affairs professional for a few days. I’m sure this broader understanding of the culture and major issues in college/university student development will help us be more effective in working with our colleagues throughout the Division.
